it is said that people with smooth brains are not clever.i thought it depends on the size of the brain

You may be referring to the fact that since the brain cannot expand because of the skull encasing it, it instead creates folds within the cerebral cortex to allow for more surface area and thus more brain power.

That is true because the brain lacks definition there are fewer neuropathways. The fewer the pathways the less intelligent the owner. Not to say that that always matters - a savant may have a very smooth brain with only one strong line but that is enough to make them a savant.

Research suggests that it is probably the convoluted fissures in the brain that dictate intelligence. The more convoluted the fissures are the more surface available in the brain.

Just like a chip, a portion of small mcdonalds style chip has more surface area exposed to hot oil when fried than the same weight in thick cut chips.

Therefore small chips contain more fat.
