Best guess, your monitor settings are incorrect. LCD monitors aren't the same as CRT monitors.

Use ONLY the "Native" resolution AND Screen Refresh Rate as specified on the manufacturer's web site for your LCD monitor.

Then, right-click on the desktop and choose Properties to open the Display Properties Window. In Display Properties > Settings TAB, set the correct "Native" resolution, then click on the Advanced Button, then the Monitor Tab to set the correct Screen Refresh Rate.

That should solve your flicker problem. Re-post if you want bigger Icons and text.

It should not flicker.

Before you take it back.

Make sure that the desktop resolution is the same as the native resolution of the monitor.

Make sure that the refresh rate is 60 Hz.

Open up notepad, or a word processor of some sort, and fill the screen with H characters. Then press the auto setup button on the monitor.

Hopefully that will fix your problem.

No it's not. You may need to tweak some of your display settings or you might have a bad display.
