magnetic field used for a gear wheel?

I want to improve a gear wheel by making the gears magnetic,thus a pear of gear wheel will have less contact,also less rub.so how to make the my needed magnetic field?

This is a good idea but the problems to overcome would be great. The gear's teeth would have to bar shaped and embedded in a non ferrous material.
