so lets review....
I am rich with great lawers... I dont have to go to jail for murder and DUI
I am stupid.. I shouldnt have to go to jail for rape and murder
I lie to supress dissent about Iraq and help get us into war... I get pardoned.
I personally believe Bush is strongly for this stupid defense.
Who actually goes to jail at this point intelligent poor and middle class.

The defence is not "I am stupid". It is "It's not my fault". As in, it is McD's fault that I spilled coffee on myself or ate there 365 days a year and got diabetes - not my fault.

"I didn't know" is not a legal defense.. you are responsible as a citizen to know the laws.
mental illness, however, is a valid defense in many cases.
