Ok i just read from mlbtraderumors.com that buherle isnt goin anywhere. That they have decided on a contract, hasnt been signed yet but they say its good to go. Now with that who do you feel they should go after? Im def not feeling the contreras and omar seems so high on him. I think we def need a pitcher now that sosa went down but we also need a big bat in the outfield. Your thoughts?

Oh and to answer the yankeefan down there. No we arent "BUYING" our title. Dont forget we have our core already of farm players that way surpass ur farm players. All we are doin is looking for a lil help to get us over the hump just like every other team. Damn yankee fans, jealous that theres a new king in NY.

First off, relax. Sosa is fine, he's going to be back right after the break along with Oliver Perez. I do agree with you that they need a big bat for the outfield. Whether they could get Jermaine Dye, Jason Bay or someone like that is yet to be seen.
We also need some bullpen help. Schoenweis and Mota are terrible and almost unusable at this point.
And to the Yankeefan who said the Mets are buying a championship and that its only not fair when the Yankees do it. The only thing the Yankees bought themselves is a ticket to the bottom of the AL East. I love seeing the Red Sox and everyone else annhilate that pathetic excuse of a team that plays in the Bronx. What a damn joke.

Buehrle WANTS to stay in Chicago. His family loves it here. That is why he is going to get a deal done. The hold up is the number of years for the no-trade clause. All 4 years vs. the first 3. He is a big time pitcher who is the ace of the club. Get off your New York bias guys - the Chicago media is ruff too. Just listen to 670 The Score online if you want proof. Or go online and read the papers. New York Ego's!
Now - the pitcher you will get is either Javier Vasquez or more likely, Jose Contreras. You will get a decent arm with Javier, and a dead arm with Jose. Hope you get Jose.

Keep looking at the White Sox then. Last I'd heard they were looking at Jose Contreras to shore up their pitching problems. There's always a chance they'll look down south at the Rangers as well, since that team is about to have a massive fire sale on all their soon-to-be free agents.
As far as a big bat goes, you guys will be competing with your cross-town Yankees for Cincinnati's Adam Dunn and Texas's Mark Texeira.

whatever the Mets do, will more than likely just be renting player for a few months. Sounds like Mets and their fans are turning into what the Yankees used to do.
So why is all of a sudden alright for this to happen and the mets are not getting killed for renting players? Getting aging veterans for young talent? Any of the pitchers from Chicago is a dumb move to give up on young talent! All the Mets are trying to do now is buy a championship. Outspend everyone else to get a player for a few months. Sad and pathetic.

Obviously the Mets are not going that hard after Buherle. If they really wanted him they would have given him a sound offer and that would have been the end of it.
You get what you need and be done with it.
In additional to that certain players really don't want to deal with all of the pressure and criticism that comes with playing in New York. Buherle could be one of those players.

Absolutely, the Mets need another first rate pitcher. The Red Sox have a rookie who pitched yesterday and won. He may just fill the bill for the Mets. Kason Gabbard won his second game. I know he is young, but his potential is great, and, let's face it, no club is going to trade away an established starting pitcher. Gabbard may be available. He is also a lefty.
Chow!!

Isn't your team trying to buy a championship? Afterall Met fans have been accusing Yankee fans of that for years so why is it ok now? Oh i forgot it's only wrong when the Yanks do it.
i'm not into that jealousy nonesense i have better things to worry about but i'm just pointing something out. I will predict this though. Mets are not going to win the world series. it will be another choke job just like last year against St Louis.

They need Buehrle or another pitcher, so look for them to try and scramble around the trade deadline. I think the White Sox will deal.
