a bit obsessed by Lourdes, aren't you? ;-)

You go there to pray as a pilgrim because the Virgin Mary appeared to three children there and/or hope for a miraculous healing as seems to have happened a few times.

There was a miracle at Lourdes, the "Immaculate Conception" appeared to three children. Where she appeared there is now a spring that is believed to have healing waters.

well, right off the bat i'd say the main reason to go there would be to see the sight of the miracle of the virgin mary of lourdes.

For those that don't know, the immaculate conception was Mary not Jesus, so don't get confused.
