You are half right, Aramis Ramirez is underrated as an offensive and defensive player. He is doing it again this year 312-15-49 and last year was good at 291-38-119. I believe those few down years he has had in the past are still haunting him in the eyes of some fans. I can't agree with you on Soriano 305-15-31 this year and 276-47-95 last year. He can do it all and any team would love to have him. The only down side with him is I think he tends to lose his concentration from time-to-time and I don't see that hustle 100% of the time, but he is really good.

I don't think Aramis Ramirez is underrated. He's only had three 100 rbi seasons in his entire career. He's a decent glove at 3rd with fair range.

As for Soriano you are talking about a guy that could have been a 40/40 man 3 other times in his 6/7 year career.
2002 - Yankees 39/41
2003 - Yankees 38/35
2005 - Rangers 36/30
This guy is the real deal and is not overrated just because he got off to a slow start in Chicago.

He's at 15/11 with more than half the season left.

I've always felt Ramirez has been underrated. I think the Pirates are finally realizing what a mistake they made in letting him go.

As far as Soriano, I do not think he is overrated at all. He has performed extremley well every year regardless of what he has been asked to do. I think the Yankee's would love to have him back...

Soriano is a little bit overrated. Last year he wasn't even at .300. Mostly because he doesn't hit a good average, but still brings in a ton of HR.

Ramirez is very underrated. He hits a lot of HR, and gets plenty of RBI even though he's behind Derrek Lee in the lineup. He's very overshadowed in Chicago.

Soriano:

If you look at their stats, they are very similar. I don't see how you would base this argument. I could see salary as an issue but Ramirez makes $9million a year this year while Soriano is making $10million. Ramirez is not underrated at all. He is widely regarded as one of the best 3rd basemen in the NL. Soriano is talked about considerably more because of his track record and what not.
