Happens all the time.... I even have duplicates of many things because I've been notorious for being absent minded.
One day I looked everywhere for my second set of glasses because I couldn't find the first. After an exhaustive search, I finally found them. Relieved, I put them on only to realize I was Wearing the first ones! lol
I had to laugh when I realized just how literal this was for your question!

I have actually and am almost ashamed to say was looking for my glasses one day and could not find them anywhere. I had looked everywhere. I finally had called my daughter in to the room to help me find them because I was almost frantic at this point and she said what are you looking for? I said I can't find my glasses . She said Mom, look in the mirror. They were on top of my head the whole time. How stupid can you be?

Yes, too many times to be healthy.
I was looking for my scrunchie and I really really needed it because I had to go out and I was rushing-and it was right on my wrist.
And other times I'd be looking for a pencil to use for a test and I'd be holding it.

I've actually looked for my car keys while they were in my pocket. And I think once I looked for my glasses while they were pushed up on top of my head. The worst part is how pist I got at myself for losing them, then how stupid I felt when I found them.

YEAH!! Last time I was fixing to kick someones @ss because I couldnt find my pencil and it was in my hand during the whole time I was getting Crunk!!!
