- could you perhaps ask your surgery to get the dr to ring you at home and then explain your anxiety and why you dont feel able to come in - then take it from there..
or - you go to the surgey - when the dr calls you in - take a huge breath of air,,,tap your fingers on your pulse of the opposite wrist and go in...you could write it all down and then as you relax enough you could answer some questions
good luck to you i hope you get the help you need poor you x

You could call your Doctor and explain about your anxiety and see if you can get a house call. Also you should see a therapist or councillor about your anxiety. They can help you deal with the issues that might be making you feel anxious.
I have anxiety and depression and having been trying an alternative therapy called Emotional Freedom Technique and it has really worked for me and helped me a lot. Since using it I have been feeling a lot better. It's very good at getting rid of all kinds of negative emotions and dealing with all kinds of issues quickly. It does sound bizarre but does work. Might be something that can help you. ON the first website you can look up a practitioner in different countries and most practitioners will do sessions over the phone meaning you don't have to leave your home.

I hate going to the doctor too, especially one that's going to want to check up and look in here and look in there...I suffer so much so that I can skip one of those appts.
So don't go to a regular dr. Go see a psychiatrist. They are the best people to see for anxiety, anyway, because they are very well versed in up-to-date psychiatric medicines.
I am not a dr., but I can think of 6 meds right off the top of my head that are very effective in treating anxiety. This problem can be solved, easily! But you need to see the dr. No exam, only conversation required.
Don't make this bigger than it is. Don't be scared or anxious, bring a friend if you like, but don't let yourself get so worried about it that you turn tail and run. I promise, you will be glad you kept this appt, and you'll feel much better very soon.

These symptoms are the very reason you need to go to the doctors and there is no shame in showing the doctor exactly how you are if anything it will be a hugh help for the doctor to be able to help and they are very, very sensitive. I suffered from serve anxiety after my 3rd baby so i know how this can be a handicap to a individual but through getting medical help I'm now very confident and able to live life instead of being ruled by fear. You will to, but only if you attain that help. GOOD LUCK!!

Hello Friend, I am a long term survivor of HIV/AIDS (21years now), talk about anxiety!!! I stopped counting Psyche Ward visits after 17 stays!!! Though my fears were valid and very real, THEY WERE NEVER REALIZED!!! As the old saying goes,..."the only thing you have to fear, is fear itself"..., however my friend, that's easier said, than done,...believe me,... I know this well. God created you for a reason,...and I truly believe your purpose is NOT staying couped up inside your home, hidding in fear,...If I had chosen that path, I am certain that I would have died 10+ years ago!!! I would never have found a new life, of Hope in my Higher Power,...Friend you need to go in to a Psyche Ward, and be seen, evaluated, diagnosed and medicated! Call the crisis line NOW, you want a better life, I know, else you would not have asked for suggestions, for help. Trust me, there is life after "TRAUMA DRAMA", what ever your
trauma was, that planted this seed of Anxiety, to grow into a giant that Paralyzes you with agoraphobia/anxiety, it MUST be uprooted!,...as I am sure you very well know. God wants to use you,... to help others!!! I pray that you can find the strength to dial those three phone numbers "911". Aloha jny

Have someone go with you. You have to go. I know it can be scary, but once you're there you will wonder why you were ever anxious about it. They can give you something for the anxiety and you won't feel that way anymore. It's a good place. The doctors are there to help you. Don't worry, everything will be fine.

Poor thing, Have you considered seeing a Behavioural Therapist? Try phoning one ...try yellow pages. They usually will talk to you over the phone initially. They do pose a charge but you will probably only require two or three sessions. Or if thats not an option call your GP and they can refer you to a counsellor. You will be amazed how much talking about it can help.

Ring the charity "MIND". You will find their numhber on the internet. Ask them to send you a "Advocate". There may be a bit of a waiting list, but they will send someone round to your house and he/she will have a chat with you and will take you to the doctor if you cant get there yourself.
Take care,

So what if you havent been there for a while. Was it because you were maybe abusing meds prescribed to you, or even worse, have a dirty urine? If not, then just go back. Whats the big deal?

Write it all down in a letter, get someone to post it to your Dr, and wait for them to contact you.
Or try looking at this site, and asking them for some help via email or phone.
http://www.mind.org.uk/Mind+in+your+area/
Keep your chin up. Asking for advice on here is the first step to you getting better.
