This might be a long shot, since not everyone who gives me thumbs down know that there is in fact a P&S, but still, the best section to put it.
Anyway, I'm not out for revenge - I've just noticed that people give me thumbs down even when I give scientifically correct answers. I can agree when I'm just being plainly mean, I don't mind the thumbs down then, because I asked for them.
But why do people give thumbs down when all I try to do is help the person asking the question?

No, Disciple; I don't have an Ego that can be hurt. But when soemone thumbs-down a scientifically correct answer - from ANYONE - they must have a damn good reason, and I would like to hear it.

Kind of, Cat Eyes. Even though I know my answers are mostly controversial, I still feel like they have it in for me - and those who give similar answers, and that's when I would like the reason why.
On another note, I would also like to know why I get thumbs up - because after all, I've recieved thumbs up for answers I knew were wrong.

I only went back a few of your responses and didn't find anything really scientific so they must be farther back than I went, but I see a lot of people asking for opinions, not science. I mean, look at the whole atheist/christian argument. Some people get sick of the juvenile back and forth of it and avoid it. Others toy with it and those who seriously have a point get discouraged by that.
So many people, including yourself, say 'this is a fact' but it doesn't make it a fact because you or I say it with authority or because we're quoting some article or passage. Lies (and subtly twisted untruths) have been printed on paper for centuries and posted on the Web since its inception and people take it for truth because they read it. We should all be more vigilant than that and no matter how many facts we post people are still going to not believe. How do you think conspiracy theories are generated?
You responded to another that you don't have an ego that gets hurt, but you do. We all do. We're human. And people are going to reject what we have to say from time to time.
Like other posters here say, yeah, sometimes it feels like you're a target, but the best thing about this place is that you can offer your opinion, someone else can leave their opinion about your opinion and everyone can go on their merry way and other than the occasional bruised ego, no one gets hurt.

I thought I'd go back into your questions/answer history and try to help you figure it out. I went back to the last 8 answers and didn't see a thumbs down. I do know that a lot of kids who surf on here for "teen" fun do that to everyone...and some negative people make rude comments and leave everyone on the page a thumbs down. It's the way people are....some are good...some are, well, the kind who give a thumbs down for no reason.

well, I must say I do like ur answers, but sometimes (AND ONLY SOMETIMES) u answer with a truth coming from ur point of view only, not taking the time to calculate the possibilities it might be different from one person to another.
it's just my personnal opinion, and for ur courage of asking such a question, I have to admit and give u a star.
thanks for ur great efforts no matter what other ppl think.

Opinions, whether or not you say something 100% correct, if a person doesnt agree with it they'll thumbs down.

They do the same thing to me and believe me, they will not answer this question either. They are just crazy and have nothing better to do than pick a person that is smarter than them out and thumbs down.

At times I feel targeted, is that how you are feeling? I understand, believe me...but hey, that's what we get for not giving inane answers.
-Perhaps those giving you a thumbs up for a wrong answer were impressed with your eloquent answer..I mean good grief look at the grammar on this site.

It's pretty typical on here that the more well-constructed, intelligent answers get thumbs down. Maybe your answers are too hard for them to understand.

I thumbs-down very rude answers. Other than that, what people say is their own business in my opinion.
