Definitely not this year but what about next year and beyond?

What if somebody had a billy goat today and they brought it into Wrigley Field? Will that break the curse?

Cubs fans do not have to worry about any curse, they have a good team and they are getting better. I really give them a shot to overtake the Brewers this year and they should be contenders for years to come. Cubs management sent a nice message to their fans when they went out and picked up Soriano and Lou Piniella. The Cubs are going to be a fun team to watch for years to come.

The Cubs won't win until after 2008. Then they will have gone the full 100 years without winning. Thus fully breaking the curse. The Cubs have Soriano, Lee, and Ramirez as cornerstones. Fontenot, Theriot, Pie, and Murton are good young players with ML experience. They have some good players coming through the MInors like, Eric Patterson, Tyler Colvin, Jake Fox, Samarzaja, and Ryan Harvey. They have good pitching which will be better if they can sign Big Z. I see a WS run soon after 2008.

Hello? They are already tried that billy goat thing, back in 2003. They lead him around the bases before the first game at WRigley field and what happened? You'll have to ask Steve Bartman that question.

But yeah, The Cubs could make it as far as The World Series, but there is no way they beat Detroit.

not this year, but they look a little better this year. Eventhough the NL Central isn't all that good, they still are only 5 or 6 1/2 games out of 1st, not too bad. I think they are working on it, maybe 2 or 3 years to get in it, not sure what their farm club looks like except they have Jeff Smardja (sp) the ND football player is a pitcher for the Iowa Cubs. I hope they can but I'm not holding my breathe.

GO INDIANS!! GO CUBS!!

If they wouldn't have ruined Kerry Wood and Mark Prior and would have signed Pudge Rodriguez and Magglio Ordonez who both wanted to play for the Cubs 1st, and if they hadn't traded away Dontrelle Willis, they could have won a couple of WS already....but since they're the Cubs, haven't won the WS in almost 100 years, and will probably lose Carlos Zambrano, I don't see that happening.....I was a Cub fan for 27 years.....I got out of my abusive relationship with them before last season and haven't looked back.....I can support a team that doesn't win.....but I can't support a team with such a terrible front office......Ask Mark Grace....Read Ryne Sandberg's book.....Ask Greg Maddux.....if you are a knowledgeable, loyal fan, you deserve better.....

The Cubs have a pretty good squad and they have a good chance at catching the Brewers. That doesn't mean they are going to win it all but they should make the playoffs. Next year look for them to get off to a good start, and don't be surprised if they make it to the world Series.

Yes because the Sox (White Sox) are losing. The Chicago area is not routing for the Sox. They are routing for the cubs. They are making more money to spend on better players. Notice that this year they are stacked with super stars. Soriano, Zambrano, Floyd, Lee, Barrret, Wood, Prior.

Sorry, even though it would be good for baseball and for Cubs fans who DESERVE a winner, the Cubs seem to be mired in a defeatist attitude which, unfortunately, becomes their reality. Until and unless they play as a TEAM and come together to believe in themselves, they will continue to lose and lose and lose. Too bad too because they made good moves over the winter. They just have not become a team with a winning attitude.

Chow!!

They are making a good run at it now. Last month they were 8 games back and the Brewers was winning every game they played in. Now they are only 4.5 games back it could be possible they could make it this year. True Cub fans always stay with there team & think positive. GO CUBBIES.

The near future is for the Brew-Crew. Perhaps the long-term future could be for Cubs, but I hope not. I'm definitely not a Cubs fan and never will be.
