My husband works for AllState and the agent he works under refuses to send out flyers or mailings. He expects him to make "cold calls" all day (while most people are at work) and still generate business. My husband is ready to make some money but how can he get his boss to generate more business by sending out flyers or something. Anybody have an ideas on how we can get my husbands name out there to have people get free quotes without putting money out of our pocket. I mean AllState gives his boss so much to generate business/advertise he is just greedy and won't use it. How can we advertise on our own. Anybody with any ideas, please???

Cold calling works, if you stay at it, and if you've had some good sales training (like the Sandler approach). Most people simply don't like doing it. Your husband's boss might not be cheap ... he simply might have been successful himself at cold calling.
Flyers are somewhat effective. Faxes are almost worthless.

You can use your computer to generate leads by creating your own flyer and FAXING it to area businesses. Yes, this is intrusive, but it costs you very little.
