The only person who has served jail time for the Plame Affair was a reporter. Judith Miller went to jail because she believed in the freedom of the press. And she never even published an article on the topic of Valarie Plame.

I'm not arguing weather she committed a crime or not, but isn't is odd that the only person who has served jail time is a reporter? If a CIA agent's name is leaked, it is connected to the white house and a war, why is a reporter the one in jail? Is she the most dangerous person involved?

The left is making sure wikpedia keeps claiming she was an agent when in fact she was not. She was not protected by the law as a "secret agent" so no crime was committed. Its like someone lying to a judge under oath and not going to jail for it.

Freedom of the press does not mean that a reporter can refuse to testify before a grand jury during an investigation into a crime.

And considering the fact that the alleged crime was never committed (Armitage leaked Plame's name, but did not know she was covert, thus no crime, as there was no intent to reveal a covert agent), it is terrible that anybody went to jail, or that anybody was indicted at all.

The only conclusion I can draw is that Fitzgerald was determined to prosecute somebody associated with the White House, regardless of who actually committed the non-crime.

The Democrats will not punish the liberal who was found to be the one who leaked. He would have only gone to jail if he was a member of the Bush administration. It just shows you what kind of a farse the whole thing really was. They knew who the leaker was before they even talked to Libby.

If I had my way there would be a lot more of these commie liberal reporters in jail. They have undermined our nation's national security at every step of the way since 9/11.

Had the press acted this way during WW2 we'd all be speaking German right now and there would be no Israeli-Palestinian Conflict because there'd be no Israelis or Palestinians any more.

Extending civil rights to our enemies undermines the civil rights for which so many have fought and died.

Abandoning common sense and calling it protection of civil liberties is tantamount to treason.

Well the FACTS are that it was linked to Richard Armitage as the one who leaked the information. But he wasn't an insider of the Administration so the democrats let him have a free ride. The reporter knew this and was protecting the democrat.

Good question.

Libby's case just goes to show that it is good to have connections in high places.

The sad thing is, if Cheney would man-up and admit he authorized the leak, this whole mess could have been prevented.

She is probably the only one who didn't get their career ruined in the process as well. In fact it will probably fast track her career if truth be told. Life isn't always fair.
