We have hit bottom thanks to George.
People are starting to realize what forces are running govt..
The 2 party system has become neutralized by the huge business interests that are playing George.
Even his own party is distancing itself from him in anticipation of the backlash that is bound to happen when more people remember that Govt is supposed to protect the rights of the people under the constiution & act in their best interest according to popular vote.
Having seen what a really bad presidency can do ,maybe the
country will wake up & restore the checks & balances that are supposed to protect us.
So, do we send him a fruit basket , or what.?

Quite a response.
May have guessed , Im a democrat but will cross lines when any candidate puts the wellness of our country ahead of kneejerk party politics.
Have seen many come & go , but in times like these , we need a "statesman" who does his ( or her) best to promote a healthy USA as well as being a good world neighbor.
Mudcat nailed it & used the word "scary"
to define what I 'm getting at.
By the way, I would take a giant crap on a Democrat also if he was as reckless as GW .

Well, I am an older guy, and without a doubt, this is the worst president I have ever seen in my life time. When I look at any issue, be it immigration, Iraq war, world policy, environment, health care and research, personal liberties and privacy, I can not see one single issue that he has exhibited good leadership on. The only folks who seem to still like him, are some that voted for him, and will follow him like rats follow pied piper. Probably because of guilt. And it is funny to watch them, try and shift blame, or rationalize why he is so terrible. I mean, he had a Republican controlled congress for a large period of time, still got nothing done, and vetoed probably the best pieces of legislation to come across his desk. And what is ironic, he made it into office even though the majority of the American people voted for someone else. Scary.

The problem is that we are going to blame George Bush for everything that is wrong with the country. While his administration has done some awful things, there are others that take some of the blame. The democrats have not been great in their 15 minutes of fame. We still have not dealt with the issues that they campaigned on. We still do not have an immigration law that defines something. So I guess fruit to everyone, but flowers to the first person that is willing to make a difference in this screwed up political mess.

I guess if there's a bright side to this dismal, horrendous, nightmare of a presidency, then it's the fact that it woke up a whole lot of people to the flaws in our system of government, especially when the minority allows the majority to run roughshod over everything.

We might hope for a big change in '08, but I fear it'll take a few more lessons until the general populace wakes up.

As for how we should reward him, I suggest an all-expenses paid trip to Guantanamo Bay.

Yup it is Bush's fault, every bad thing that ever has happened is Bush's fault. He killed Elvis, caused Pearl Harbor, bombed the twin towers and was the shooter on the grassy knoll.
Remember the media quoted "sources in the Bush Administration" He has a time machine, didn't you know that?

Oh and the democrats had nothing to do with this. The congress with the lowest rating in history is the republicans fault.

Fruit baskets are nice. That is very thoughtful. But we never properly thanked Nixon for doing exactly the same thing 35 years ago. So I recommend we let Bush slink off in shame too. Maybe he can have a Robert Frost interview and declare "I am not a corrupt idiot"

One can only hope that his failures would mobilize the nation in protecting its freedoms, unfortunately, It seems that the republicans of america become defensive when this administration is criticized. Its understandable, afterall, I wouldnt want the blood of thousands of young soldiers on my hands. Im glad I never supported this war for a second.

We owe him a huge thank-you. He has shown us exactly what a President should NOT do. We will never make such a mistake again, thanks to George W. Bush. His administration will be studied forevermore as a shining example of bad leadership. I would send him a funeral arrangement wih a "Thanks for Everything" banner.

I would like to thank him for over 94% employment. Also a record breaking stock market. Thanks for the low interest rates allowing more home ownership than at any other time in our history. Thanks for the judges who outlawed partial birth abortion. And most of all thanks for finally fighting back against the Muslims who have been killing innocent Americans the world over, without us even trying to defend ourselves. Thanks, and God Bless You, George Bush.
