i just rented a 2 bedroom apt but our master bedroom is hot! The AC in the living room doesnt cool it well at all. Does anyone know a good way to cool a 15' X 15' bedroom without installing a window AC? I've heard of portable AC units but I think they are pricey. Thanks

check the output at the duct,, go to the auto parts store and invest in a little thermometer, 5 bucks or so, check the temp outta the vent, should be 40 or less, call landlord and have them fix it,

I had this problem in a previous apartment and a ceiling fan in the bedroom helped a lot. It would pull the cooler air into the bedroom, plus just circulating the air in there helped it feel cooler.

If there is a big difference in temp coming out of the vents, it's possible that the baffles leading into the bedroom are closed. You can't tell this without viewing the HVAC line, though, so would require a trip up into the attic or under the apartment. And, if your have folks above and below you, you may not have access to it at all.

You can get a floor model now for around 60.00 for a generic brand. We bought a Maytag when the floor models first came out and we would sooner do without our pillows than do without the unit.
Our bedroom was too hot, the downstairs too cold, and the middle flloor was perfect. This wonderful machine kept us from having to sell our house!!!

You may need to leave the door open and use a fan to direct the cool air into the room.
