I am watching my neighbor's house. Well, their garage. Their dog is living in it and I am to take care of him for five days. Today is the last one. I noticed the dog wasn't eating normally, so I kept going to let him out extra times and this morning, the last morning I am watching him, I find that he has "done numbers one and two" in a corner of the the garage. I moved the stuff that was near there out of the garage and sprayed the waste out with the hose. I got all the excess water out and I am waiting for it to dry completely with the garage door open to air it out. But the smell is god-awful. Does anyone have any ideas for cleaning the smell out in the next few hours so the owner's don't come back to it? I'm sure they wouldn't mind the smell because I've tried so hard to clean it all up even after he told me I didn't have to if the the dog did go in there, but I still think it would be polite to get the smell out for him.
Thanks.

By the way, the garage has a concrete floor.

Wash the area down with vinegar and water and soap. Then get a box of baking soda. It will absorb the odor and it is cheap. You can try sprinkling some where the odor originated and then sweep away if a smell remains after the vinegar or simply pour some in a flat container out of doggie reach and let it just be there. Vinegar will neutralize the urine and baking soda will absorb any remaining orders.

Use some simple green or lysol... just keep the door to the garage open if you use bleach because urine contains ammonia and you'll have a nasty reaction and toxic fumes.. I would just rinse the area with vinegar and hose it out the best you can

Look around in the garage for a fan, spray the area with soemthing that smell good (pine-sol, air freshner, bathroom cleaner, whatever) and then turn on the fan for 15 minutes at least.

The scent of sewage isn't risky however the reality which you would be able to scent it in any respect shows a leak someplace - and which may well be risky (because of the fact of toxins and rot). Sewage fumes can on occasion be flammable so shop bare flames away. it may be unsafe for the toddlers in the event that they got here across the leak and have been given coated in sewage, otherwise they would be ok for a at the same time as. you would be fortunate to get a plumber to instruct out on a economic corporation holiday weekend.

Walmart sells an anti-pet odor spray. I use that one for my dog...and it does miracles. Are you sure its not the dog smelling bad but the floor?
