Bobby Cox has a history of getting the most out of his teams in the second half, and I think the Mets aren't as good as everyone thinks.
Getting Pedro back will help the Mets, though, and I think it is more likely the Mets will help themselves before the trade deadline.
So my final answer is that they will make a run, but no.

I truly believe they can bypass the Mets in the East because they have showed it head to head with them. I do agree with the other guy that the wild card will not come out of the east so they will have to win it ouright. If the Braves could stay consistent with run production and pitching they will be fine. July has always been their most productive month in the past.

I dont see the Atlanta Braves getting pass the Phillies for the wild card.
To tell you the truth it looks like the wild card in the national league is going to come from the West - Could be Padres, Dodgers or Diamond Backs.
Either Way the Mets are going all the way! - This is the year!

Yes the Braves will definitely take the lead after the All-Star break. They will do that because this year they have owned the Mets. And if that's not enough they have the best record in July since 1991.

Not unless the Mets get some serious injuries in the second half. They are clearly the best team in the NL and they are only going to get better once Pedro comes back in August.

Gee, I hope so, but I will not be confident that they have the tools to do so unless they trade for a starting pitcher which they need badly. Then they will wipe out the Mets.
