A vacation gone bad?

Ohhhh yes.

My parents were on a pilgrimage and I was living with my elder sister and her family in their oh-so-comfortable apartment. They were kind enough to bring me and their daughter to Bali for a 4-day getaway and it was going fine. We stayed in Hard Rock Hotel and we went to the mountains and the caldera but on the last day, my brother-in-law got sucked into viewing a timeshare thing and we ended up listening to some boring talk by the timeshare manager for 5 freaking hours!

My mood just plummeted and hit the earth real bad. And no prizes for guessing who became a badass with an attitude at dinner that night!

The year that we went to the beach with the kids (4 at that time) and they came down with the chicken pox. My mother-in-law was there to inform me of what I was doing wrong (starting with allowing these children to get sick). I wanted to drown myself in the ocean. Vacation was cut short that year. More than 20 years ago now and I will never forget it (oddly enough neither will the kids--we still have a laugh about it now and again). The long car trip home with the sicklings was no fun either! Good luck!

I've had money to go on vacation but with who? I would be to scared to go by myself. I have never been on a vacation but know I need one. Any suggestions?

Sort of; I went to Las Vegas with my parents and my mother's family for Christmas when I was seventeen. Because of the inability for anyone in my mother's family to make a decision, we ended up not doing much at all while we were there except shopping.

sorta. i planned a lovely roundtrip cruise to the bahamas and back.i still had fun, but 'm sure no one else did. we got caught in the middle of a thunderstorm and the ship was rocking, literally ROCKING. one of my friends fell TWICE. if that were to happen to me again i'd probably get seasick. but, i was just enraptured by the slot machines
