I need to setup a new monitor and an older comp for my mom. The monitor is OLEVIA 27" 2 Series LCD HDTV (227V) and the comp is an older eMachines T3624. What cables would be best to connect these two? thanks...

The monitor has a VGA connector, so a VGA to VGA cable will work.

Edit:
How far away from the PC will the TV be?

If it is more than the standard 6 ft cable then you might start seeing problems.

Make sure you buy a good quality cable. Make sure you can take it back if it does not work well.

The TV has a HDMI input as well. In theory you could put a new video card into the system with a DVI-I or DVI-D output and it should connect with a DVI-D to HDMI cable. I have heard tof some problems trying this, so again make sure you can return stuff it it does not work. It looks like your machine would need an AGP video card.

DVI cables should do better over longer distances than VGA cables.
