and ECNALG means backwards glance

The technical and dictionary-defined term for it is a rebus, if you type that into a search engine you'll get a lot of fun sites with them.

"Catchphrase" was just a quirky and appealing name for the TV programme... wouldn't have sounded as good if it was called "Rebuses"!
