Isnt the whole point of sport to be enjoyable so how can it be TOO enjoyable? Anyway what do you mean by is it real cricket? Of course its not the same as, say, a test match but all forms of the game are good in their own way. I first got into cricket thanks to 20/20 - i never used to watch the game before this came along (and of course Kevin Pieterson at Notts was a bonus when i started watching!!!). I now watch all forms of the game and surely thats a good thing.

I hear alot of the "old timers" complaining about this short form of the game, that its not "real cricket" but if its getting bums on seats - so to speak - then it can only be good for the game. And then, if, as with me these new supporters start watching the other kinds of matches then even better.

Its just a new evolution in cricket and it needs to be embraced as far as i'm concerned :-) and personally i think there should be a seperate England 20/20 team to the one day team aswell!!! (bet that statement will put the cat amongst the pigeons ha ha ha)

Its great to watch, very exciting. So called 'real cricket' is played only in the 5 day tests. People don't have the patience to appreciate this at all!
Twenty20 has bought cricket much needed interest & funds.

Not in the pure sense no it isn't cricket. Cricket has been adapted by one day matches, were 40 now 50 overs per side and the latest 20-20 form . Short games tend to be more exciting and produce more action than the longer games, and the viewer or spectator has the advantage of seeing the whole game and the result in one visit. Longer matches could involve visiting for 4 or 5 days. The short games have increased the crowds watching and therefore increased the counties revenues. which is to the good of cricket in general. There are still 4 day county matches and international 5 day test matches for the traditional enthusiast..

ICC describe twenty 20 as “Just for entertainment”. But now they are going to hold a world cup for twenty 20 cricket. I personally don’t like for twenty 20. Because we can see best cricket in longer version of game. 50 over cricket enough. If they try to reduce more than that, it will not be cricket. This is good as commercial event. But not for the future of the cricket. People don’t like see fall more wickets in twenty 20. They want to see sixes and fours. I can guarantee, twenty 20 world cup will be a nightmare for the bowlers.

Twenty20 cricket doesn't test the players ability.Test matches test a players ability perfectly. But twenty20 cricket is entertaining.

both, in the future test matches might not exist casue there far too long and also the younger generation may not like it or enough patince for a 5 day match therefore odi's and 20/20 will be the real cricket.

While Twenty/20 id morre entertaining game of cricket, one cannot assess the techniqaue and skill of batsmen and bowlers in this format as this game is all about scoring the runs at faster rate in whatever way possible.

Yes....Twenty20 is exciting...But it is a real test to the players...
A batsman have to quickly adapt to the situation and score runs really quicker...
A bowler knows that the batsman is after you and bowl according to that...
Definitly it puts the players under more pressure and winning team requires high skills
