Yes an unnecessary strategic mistake against better judgement. We need to give firm deadlines and then get out. The Iraqi's will not step up while we are there. They need to get going or we will be there forever, and our brave hero's will continue dying for the strategic mistake.

oh sure.. I mean my biggest problem with many of the pro-war republicans is that a lot won't even admit it was a mistake to go in.. heck some even still think (and I'm not joking.. I have spoke to these people in real life) that Iraq attacked us on 9/11. My main problem with us being there now is this. Are we doing more harm than good? and are the Iraqi's trying to help themselves.. for you can't help those that don't want to help themselves.. isn't it pure socialism when WE are doing the policing and WE are doing the fighting and WE are paying the bill and they don't have to do a thing for it? Now, if you can honestly say to me that the Iraqi's are trying and we are doing more good than harm and that there is an end in sight then all I would say to you is get a different leader and get the job done.

Leave Iraq to the Iraqis. Iraq wasn't a strategic mistake. It was a colossal blunder. If you want to be against the war yet support our troops then bring them all home from all over the globe. Let them protect our border from within. Stop being the world's policeman.

How about a Republican who thinks the begining of the Iraq war was not a strategic mistake, but now staying in Iraq is. What are we really accomplishing at this point?

Yep. It would be foolish to withdraw all military personnel. Let the locals have their civil war and let the Americans secure the oil with permanent bases. Remember, we still have to pay for the war.

I did, but now am starting to think we need to start to get our troops out of there, as it is going to be bad regardless of when we leave.

I'm sure there's a few, all the rest just sit and home, close the blinds and hope nothing bad happens to them as they lock the door.

I would prefer a multinational peacekeeping force. There's no reason for this to be an exclusively American graveyard.
