It's wired landlines that you don't want to be using in a thunderstorm. Mobiles are fine however the reception may be a little ropey.
As for the guy above sitting in your car in a lightning storm is actually one of the safest places. The very fact that you're surrounded by a lump of metal shields you from the lightning. Look up Faraday's cage if you want to learn more as it's out of the scope of this questions.

In the usage of cellphone, the user is not connected to any conductor network(just like a land line network) nor it produces any easy path for movement of charge just like a lightning arrestor.Threfore usage of cellphone during lightning should be safe and should not increase the probability of lightning stroke. However some reports are received now and then about such lightning strikes. This should be weighed against the large number of other people dying by thunderbolt while not using cell phones.Hence in my opinion you can safely use cell phones during lightning.

? I'm not sure i understand the question, but I will take his lead. I know someone who was driving and was struck by lightning. The car immediately shut off. The power locks wouldnt undo because the battery got fried. Luckily they had a cell phone and called the fire department. They said, "Do not attempt to leave the vehicle". The vehicle is insulated from the ground and retains a high electric charge. They had to wait until the fire department came and grounded out the car. Then they had to wait for a "jump" just to get the locks popped.

It is not advised to use a mobile home in ANY type of adverse weather. Every time it rains, snows, blows, or if the humidity goes up more than .0798 points, it is recommended that you evacuate the Mobile Home and go sit in a field. You may get wet, but you wont be zapped/blown away/freeze-dried etc. Same goes for new condos. Same goes for new developer-inflicted houses.

For obvious reasons. Lightning can kill! You also shouldn't be next to any electrical appliance. People shouldn't go under trees either.

You can. But mind you that you are driving around in a hunk of metal. Even still, you have little chance of getting struck my lightning, although it CAN happen.
