NCAA Participation breaks down as follows:
Div I 285 Teams
Div II 247 Teams
Div III 369 Teams
Total 901 Teams
NAIA Participation is 204 Teams
JUCO Participation is at least 200 teams
So we have a minimum of 1305 teams and assuming rosters of 24 players there are 31,320 players each year in college.

don't know about how many high school players had played in college baseball,
There are nationwide as more high school players are going to professional league as MLB early after graduate from high school.
The college baseball isn't very popular college sport because they are cheap as don't have many people to watch a college baseball game a day. Only the football and basketball are most popular sports in college time;.
For example;
If a student playing the baseball very well, also doing well on academic works. He sign the nation letter to playing the baseball in college, but he was pick by the team in the first round.

most high schools , may have one player who goes to college , if that, the vast majority of good high school players get drafted and go straight to minor league systems or play semi pro, but i would say the average is less than one percent

alto more than you think...alot of players will play college ball inteasd of going to the minors because they are not good enough to make it to the MLB without a few more years of good solid coaching and stuff...others play college because they want to go to the world series and enjoy the college lifestyle.
