Last summer ,my air just stopped working after my water pump leaked ,and leaked water down onto the air conditioners motor. We thought it just needed to dry out, but after a while we kept replacing fuses, and it kept blowing them. Will I have to get a new motor, ( for the air condition) or does anyone know what else could be the problem..

I don't know if this will help or not. It looks as if what might have happened is that water got into the plug of your compressor clutch causing a short. You may or may not have burned up the clutch (for simplifying) not the compressor it self. First check and see if there is any moisture in the plug in. Chances are you have burned up the coil in the clutch assembly. depending on the year and make of your vehicle i.e. if in is a Toyota or Nissan it would be cheaper to replace the clutch assembly on the other hand if it is a ford or Chevrolet it may be cheaper to replace the whole compressor with a rebuilt one. hope this helps. good luck.

Ok first, your car air conditioner doesn't have a motor. It is just the compressor that is driven by a belt off your engine, with a magnetic clutch to engage and disengage the belt drive. So the water dripping on the compressor clutch could have shorted out the wiring in it. They don't usually replace just the clutch, the change the entire compressor. Have it checked by a qualified mechanic.

It could be the motor, or maybe a shorted wire. The only way to tell is tale it apart and see. The motor could be tested by itself. If you heater works, then it could be in the control box. Now it the motor is an electric fan on the radiator, then this could be the problem. I would need to know what motor you are talking about.

the water leak could have leaked on to your Compressor (what you call the motor for your ac) and it could have shorted out the Coil on the compressor or the wiring. You need to have it checked.

good idea would be to take it to a local repair shop, what they can do is take out your motor put in a "test" motor and see if that blows after the time frame you have for your blowouts, if it does then ur whole AC is gone, if it doesent then pay for the new motor as your motor had a short.

there could be a number of problem like the refrigarator or motors... my a/c was giving out warm air and not cold... apparently the gas needed refilling. so check if the gas for the a/c is not empty. you have to refill by special gas companies
