Yes, but not completely militarily. Terrorist resources are being used up in Iraq and Afghanistan and they have cash problems. One goal of terrorism is to get the US and the UN out of the Middle East so that genocide can occur and Shiites can slaughter Sunnis and Talisban can slaughter Afghanis. While the US engages the terrorists in warfare they exhaust their ability to recruit and to arm. A much larger war is being waged against the resources of terrorism in a non military way. There is no diplomatic way to resolve terror in the world, these are not soverign nations, these are evil men who have usurped a religion and prey upon the lack of education as a means of wrestling power from governments. Terrorism is the most violent attack on human rights ever seen in the world and will not be defeated until every world citizen understands the value of human life. That does not eixst in the terror states of the world. The thousands of people who have sacrificed their lives for what they were told were terrorism's goals will be surprised when they find out that its really about gain power and wealth for those "zealots" who lead them.

Tough question, because the war on terror doesn't involve a single country or army, and isn't only an armed conflict. The war on terror will never be won as long as Iran uses its oil revenue to give weapons to terrorists in Lebanon, Hamas and insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan. So a military victory there could stop those activities, or a diplomatic victory where the present government of Iran is voted out. Terrorism is also going to be a generational worldwide conflict where education and development will play a factor. Giving new generations options options for jobs could make putting on a suicide vest less appealing.

The only way to win the current war on terror is to eliminate all the radical Islamists. They have clearly demonstrated that they come from all walks of life and hate all non-Muslims to the point where they believe the best thing they can do with their lives is martyr themselves for the cause (and take out as many white devils as possible in the process). There is no reasoning with these people, and THEY have declared war on US; not the other way around. Can we eliminate them all using military force? Probably not, but any efforts at diplomacy or offering economic opportunities for impoverished Arab nations will not stop the terror attacks -- if anything, it'll facilitate more attacks. BOTTOM LINE: These radicals have already decided it's us or them, so I vote for us. All opposed?

No, we won't. To win the war on terror, we must respect each others property. Not violate any basic human rights, or allow
others to get away with such things as conspiracy to mandate
an others property, this funds the terror. (This happens in the
states a lot--even though the people in the US seem to be bored with the action, rather than trying to stop the interaction.
It is, in part, a social scam in which a third party interacts
to "speak" for a person, without the persons knowledge,
creating a false circumstance.)

We will never totally win as long as there are people on the planet with ill will toward the West. We need to take a long look at our current laws on immigration and access granted to people who would like to come to the United States for any reason. Militarily we will never win because it just incites the enemy to further action and revolt. If all these extremists were denied the privilege of living in a free culture and made to exist only in their native land with other extremists the violence would subside, never end, just abate. Listen to the news and see that they wish to turn free countries into extreme Muslim states, that is their purpose, to overthrown governments, so why allow them in. I wish to apologize to the people of those countries and religions who are peaceful people but at this point how can we tell who is who when even physicians are involved in acts of terror.

No, it can't be won militarily, and maybe not even diplomatically.

We have jumped into the middle of a civil war with countries that have been fueding since before the birth of Christ.

They pass their vendettas from generation to generation.
They will never give up or give in. We went over to their yard, they didn't first come here.

This is a war about oil, not about human rights. There are plenty of poor countries experiencing genocide, but are we there? Nooooo, only where the oil is.

Worst yet, we supported Sadam at one time, back as far as 1963, and supplied him with the viral weapons he has in his arsenal. That's right, we gave those to him.

To wit, from common dreams . org:

Before war broke out March 2003, a flurry of U.S. headlines also called attention to reports that pathogens used by Iraq for its biological warfare program came from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and a private Manassas, Va.-based biological samples repository called the American Type Culture Collection.

Officials at the two institutions said shipments of anthrax, West Nile virus, botulinum toxins and other pathogens were sent to Iraq in the 1980s with U.S. commerce department approval for medical research purposes

To which I say... Duhhhhhh!

Yes, however in doing so we have to be prepared to treat civilian lives as a threat also and kill them along with the real "Terrorists". The US has to make a judgement call to kill everybody there or leave. This half baked war on terror is doing no good. We can't tell who is a terrorist and who is a civilian and who is a pissed off civilain. True war has no innocence bystanders. This is why WAR is supposed to be the absolute last resort, and even if used, is never the right answer.

Who are "you"? Anyway, if you don't harbor terrorists, and you vote against "Kosovo's Independence", then please God, you will be able to win the war against terror.
