Only men I know who love soccer are foreigners!(Ha Ha) It's all the ball play I think.

Some men don't love soccer at all.
In any case, it is the same reason anybody loves any sport. Find a girl who likes it and ask her. Then you'll have your answer, without even having to stereotype anybody.

We men like to sit on the sofa, drink beer, eat chips, nap and rot. Soccer is perfect for this since there is so little scoring that we don't have cause to leave the sofa for hours at a time. As long as we bring enough beer and chips to the sofa with us, we can waste an entire day rotting away, napping, drinking beer and eating chips while watching one group run like hell in one direction and accomplish nothing, and then the other group run like hell in the other direction and accomplish nothing. We feel greatly comforted by the nothingness that is being accomplished as we ourselves pursue that same objective.

Being straight I find difficult to get excited about 22 young men running about in shorts. But each to their own I suppose.
