Most fish are very curious and will stick their heads into anything they can fit it into. To get your stuck fish out, you just need to force him out - there's nothing else to it if he can't get himself out of it. Be as gentle as you possibly can; don't push him out of it, just give him small nudges to help him swim out. Avoid breaking the ornament. It requires quite a bit of force to break such objects underwater, and increases the risk of cutting your fish.
Pushing him out may lead to slight scratches and wounding if the surface of the ornament is rough or rocky; however, these shouldn't be so severe that they wouldn't be fixable in less than a week. Medicine such as Melafix and Pimafix is good for healing up wounds and scratches.
To avoid this predicament in the future, you should seal up all holes that your fish can fit into (and that aren't obviously large enough for him to just swim through) with aquarium sealant. Make sure the sealant is aquarium-safe.

Ooh, sounds like you have a little problem here...
Try dropping a few fish food flakes in front of your fish. If that doesn't lure him out, he's probably quite badly suck. You could carefully break the sunken fish ship, or lift the whole thing up a centimetre in the water, that may help get him out. Or you could just leave him for a few minutes, he might get out by himself. Just stay calm and try not to touch him or stress him out.
Good luck!

Get the fish out. Then keep the ornament out of the tank.
It is possible the fish went in to hide because its sick, so check your water while you are at it. The sooner you get the fish out the better chance the fish will survive. Break the ornament carefully, or if you have to pull him out, pull him head first so he won't catch his gill covers on anything, and you will be less likely to loose too many scales.
He may stress for a couple of days after. Keep the water as clean as you can.

You might want to crack to ship somehow and then that will cut the fish loose a little. Ten flip it over and do the same thing. Then The sides should come apart and the fish will be loose. (A little advice don't buy a ship to put in the tank again).

We had a similar problem. Try removing the ornament out of the tank VERY SLOWLY. When it starts to be completely in air, the fish should be smart enough to swim out. Or if the fish is a Catfish, it will stay in the ornament till nightime and it may come out later.

well determining on the size of the ship
since he got him self in he should be able to get him self out
just leave it alone for a hour or so if his not out by then
you might have to break the ship to save your fish

you could try very carefully breaking the ornament, make sure your hands are clean, but not washed with soap or detergent, i had a fish get stuck in a filter, and i couldn't get him out, later on he died, and i literally had to pull the poor fishes body out with pliers, and i have no F***ing idea how he got so damn stuck , the unfortunate part is that the flter part he was stuck in wasn't an easily replaceable part, so i had to get him out some how. gud luck with your stuck fish
