Ok, a while ago I had a project involving PVC pipe. Of course, I abandoned it, attached the PVC together so the pieces wouldn't get lost, and threw it in my basement.
Im restarting the project...but the pieces are stuck together like CRAZY. How can I pry them apart without ruining the the pieces. Im hesitant to put a hammer to it or expose it to heat...I'm guessing it'll become brittle...and they can't be brittle for what i am planning to do with them...

If you used PVC cement to put them together, you will NEVER get them apart without ruining them.
If you just stuck them together without any cement and can't get them apart, try putting them in the freezer for about an hour and then take them out and try and pull them apart. The cold will make the pipe contract and can possibly work to get them apart. If that doesn't work, spray the seals with some WD-40, wait a minute and take two pairs of pliers and wiggle the pieces back and forth and you will eventually get them apart.
If that doesn't work, get someone to help you and as you pull the two pieces apart as hard as you can, have someone "tap" on the sides of the pieces fairly hard and quickly with something hard (screwdriver handle, piece of wood, etc) while you pull. Again, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Good luck-

If you used glue, you will need to cut the joints out. If you just pushed the pipe into the fittings, you will need a strap wrench to turn them and pull apart. The plastic is a tight fit and the glue acts as a lubricant when gluing.

HACK SAW! You will have to buy the 50 cent connectors again. Next time try zip ties to keep them together.

If you keep banging the pipes on som thing they should eventuly come apart.

spray some WD40 all around the pipe and twist .
do several times and they should come loose.

use a rubber mallet and tap on it
