The last month or so I've had pain in my pubic bone area (sorry can't think of a better description) and it's been getting progressively worse. It used to go away if I lay down, but even that's ended now. It honestly feels like my pubic area is being torn to shreds, walking is now almost impossible, especially if I sit for a while and have to get up. Today, after getting out of the car,the pain shot to my stomach and legs, causing me to bend over. Afterwards, I couldn't get up again and needed help (thank goodness my husband was with me).

I'll be seeing my doctor tomorrow, but just want to know if this is normal or not? I'm 29 weeks pregnant.

I guess it's hard to make sure you are talking about the same place I am thinking of, but around that time I had HORRIBLE pains too. I remember them clearly, and in my opinion, they were worse than labor! I would sit and cry from the pain, and it was about when I really started to show. The Dr. told me it was my ligaments stretching to get ready for birth and my actual birth canal/hips starting to separate to make room for the impending birth. He explained that your hips actually DO get bigger and separate and that is why you are never the same size after pregnancy even if you lose all the weight. Anyhow, it sounds normal, but I'm glad you scheduled with your dr. just to make sure. Hang in there, you're more than halfway there! Good luck!

it is normal to have your pelvic bone weaken during pregnancy, you have quite a weight pushing down on it. most people will experience discomfort, so extreme pain. unfortunately the more pregnancy's you have the weaker the bone gets and the more pain you have.
try using a maternity belt, it helps take the pressure off and take some of the pain away.
