being cheated on

Well, I have done all 3. I have failed to get the love of my life by failing to tell him my feelings. And now I am with someone who cheats on me at random so I would say the most hurtful thing is failing to get the love of your life cause you will never really be happy or whole

I would say probably #2 (although it's never happened to me). I know that if I didn't "get" the love of my life, then God must have better plans for me. And if I hold my feelings back, well, that's my own choice, and if it hurt I wouldn't do it. (Sometimes it's best to keep silent anyway. But sometimes you have to just open your mouth and say what needs to be said.) But being cheated on would hurt because you would have put your trust in that person, and they abused that trust and took you for granted.
At least I know that in any circumstances I can run to God when I'm hurt, and He'll change my pain and sadness into peace and joy!

I think being cheated on brings the most pain; you have put your trust in a person only to be betrayed...

When someone does something that hurts it's worse than causing your own pain.

Being cheated on leads you to ask why...? You may never truly know the reason behind it, even if you feel that you have done everything right for the other person in your relationship. It's down to someone else.

*failing to get the love of your life
*being cheated on by your lover
*holding your feelings back and not telling him/her what you feel

All the above matter will hurt a person the most, in different ways....for me, being involved in love means that you are looking for troubles and putting yourself in danger....at first, you will be holding your feelings back and don't tell him/her what and how you feel....later, there are possibilities for some of you to be cheated by your beloved "lover"......and, one day you will end up frustrated and broken-heart, for failing getting the love of your life....

I'd say it's holding your feelings back and not telling that person how you really feel inside would hurt the most. What if he feels the same way too? Regret would surely come upon you because you didn't have the courage to tell that person how you feel. It's as if you're running from something good.
