If the present human visual spectrum were extended into the infrared, we would gain the benefit of 'night vision' goggles, and be able to visually detect heat signatures that our unaided eye cannot now detect. If we had to sacrifice any of our current visual spectrum to get it, it would usually be a net loss. I we had to sacrifice visual acuity (resolution), it would definitely be a net loss. God or evolution (you choose) makes wise choices.

If a human had the skill to be certain infrared, i might think of that he/she might see extra hues than we presently do (presuming the cones have been latest to discover those wavelengths). What they might appear as if, for sure i do no longer understand, for the reason that *I* can not see into the infrared. Sounds cool, nevertheless :-)

that's not possible but if a human had infrared sensitive eye he will see better in the darkness

Than he would have the eyes of a snake..... and we would see only body heat and not details.... which means.
You would miss the beauty of the other sex
- eye color
- hair color

Then We couldn't go outside because the Sun gives out heat. We ccan't use toaster, oven, or anything hot

you would basically see varying differences in heat...btw person above me is an idiot. its a myth that people dont use all their brain...we didnt evolve parts of the brain that are not used.

Effectively, you'd have night vision. You'd also see a lot of things very differently than you do now...
