I just got a new puppy. It's a puggle (pug/beagle mix) & I was wondering if there was a GPS chip that I could put inside of her/on her so if she got lost I could find her......

I've heard about the microchip that the shelter can scan....but what if no one takes her to a shelter?

Does anyone know of something like this?

Why don't you just concentrate on keeping her safe and in your yard. Make sure the fence is secure and that's there's no way to escape. Microchipping your pet is STILL the best option. Have it done, and then go on and enjoy your dog.

The technology is out there, but may cost more than it's worth for your puggle. As much as you love your dog, it's not a recognized breed. It's what's called a "designer dog".

Microchipping is also available, but if the dog is stolen and sold, it may not end up in a shelter. Still, microchipping HAS brought dogs home.

You could get her microchipped which will probably cost less than the GPS chip. And on top of that get her a collar with a tag plus her rabies vaccination tag. That tag will also have your vets number on it so that if somebody finds her they might take her to the vets and the vets have a microchip scanner.

Pet stores have a collar that has a device in them with the same type locator's. Although this does not help if the collar is removed or comes off. Most local vets can put in the device with minimal distress to your pup. Usually the local animal shelter has the best (inexpensive) prices on internal devices. Hope this has helped.

Yes take it to a vet office. And they will put a chip inside of your dog. Then they will give you a blue tag to put on the dogs collar. So if someone finds him they see the blue tag. Then they will take him to the vets to be scanned. Then the shelter will call you and have you come pick up your dog.
