Bush, Feb 2004 - "If there's a leak out of my administration, I want to know who it is. If the person has violated law, that person will be taken care of."
Apparently, he was using that phrase literally, and not figuretively.

Libby urinates on the law and is cheered by his political party for it. Bush, defecates on the criminal justice system and frees a convict for no other reason other than honoring a code of flip flopping ideals of justice.

Libby was convicted of a crime that did not happen. Can we say "witch hunt" by the left. You did notice that once it was found out by us who really sit up the "leak" that part of the case was dropped. This was no more than a make up case to try to bring Bush down and once again Bush beat the left down. Now Bush need to take the next step and free the Border Patrol Agents and our Military that has been set up by the left wing pro terrorist embedded reporters.

This comes as no surprise at all to me. Republicans always take care of there own. The person who Bush is protecting is Cheney. Why do you think Cheney will not allow Congress security access to his records? The act of outing a active CIA agent is treason. Bush and Cheney will face impeachment. The investigations will start in Sept. or Oct. 2008. Voters have a short memory span. The objective of the Democrats will be to have every American Glued to the TV before elections. Not having the votes in the Senate means nothing, that never stopped Republicans...

Since Libby was not the source of the leak, was not convicted of being the source, was not charged with being the source, was not even indicted with being the source, then why do you believe that Libby is somehow the leaker?
And the commuting of the prison sentence does not get rid of the conviction, the fine or the fact that he now has a felony record.
This is just more leftist mass hysteria.

Actually, it is the first thing in awhile I respect him for. Mr Libby was a scrapgoat, and Bush did not let him go to prison over others misconduct.

It's getting so one can't say ANYTHING without offending SOMEBODY, but Grandma used to bake up a big, old dark fruitcake around Thanksgiving, wrap it up in cheesecloth soaked in rum, and leave it in a tin boc on a closet shelf 'till Christmas. Deeeeelish!

Libby was the fall guy. He took one for the team. I agree that the crime of forgetting what happens does not warrent a 2 year prison term. Next time you "forget", can we lock you up for 2 years and charge you $250,000?

Libby did not leak the name. Armitage did. Libby was convicted of perjury.

Well, Cheney is the one who should have been on trial. Libby knew he would be pardoned all along. That's the only reason he went along with the whole thing.
