I can't believe someone said we're slower than men!! Two accidents in which I totalled cars were a result of speed - I was doing 70+ mph in both! (And multiple speeding tickets outside of the accidents.) My driving skills have since improved...I have even taken an additional driving course about 4 years ago.
What I want to know is how can men improve their driving skills? Or is it really true that you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

If there's a gender difference in driving skill, I think it's negligible. Usually, if a man is a great driver, he'll take more chances and consider the public roads his own race track (this describes me), therefore effectively negating his greater skill (which is actually just greater interest in cars and driving).

Take driving lessons. Isn't that how everyone improves their driving skills?

Don't you believe it Jackal - elecrronic experiments have shown acitivity in the brain between males and females where, given a problem to sort, a light appears in one side of his brain - s concentrated small area. In the woman's brain the activity is everywhere - it lights up on both sides.
It is this ability to think of several things at once, and makes a woman useful, but it also makes her look different from the zoom-in blinkered male.

There have been studies that show women are better drivers than men. This question is gender-biased. Everyone can improve driving skills.

Actually the worst drivers are young men:
"for instance 17-19 year old men are 8.5 times more likely to be involved in a drink-drive crash than other age groups, and that most drink-drive crashes involve male drivers aged 20-24"
and the best drivers?
33 year old women.

There is only one way to improve you driving and that is to drive. Like the old joke 'how do you get to Carnegie Hall, practice, practice, practice.'

Women don't need to. If you look at the number of accidents, it's men who need to. However, I'll leave that to the DMV.

wanna race, your choice car, boat or motorcycle!!
Never had a wreck (in the street normal driving), but do have 12 tickets for speeding, no tickets for illegal driving, and love to race!
