If I am assigned as an outlook delegate for someone on a business network and I open their inbox to read a message on my computer, does it still appear unread to them when they open it on their computer? Thanks

This is not clear cut.

Usually the answer is that if you open it, it is marked as read.

However, some e mail clients are configured to allow a delegate access your e mail to read and screen it. An administrative assistant would typically screen e mail and oftentimes handle a lot of the e mail by forwarding it to someone else thereby freeing up the person to whom it was sent so he can address more critical matters. E mail that is to be processed by and therefore forwarded to the addressee after the admin assistant has screened it may show an unopened status as the addresse has not seen it yet.

This means that the answer is "maybe - it depends upon the system and its configuration".

Sorry but this is one of those "shades of gray" type of items where there is no clear black and white.
