Lets face it... if thats how you're feeing it was going to come out sooner and later no matter what. It's a tough sort of situation to be in, but honesty is always the key.
Maybe one day you two can be together, but if you've discussed it and she doesn't feel like she can be with you at the moment then its something you have to accept. It's ALWAYS better to know the truth a bout these things than hide feelings.

I'm not gay, but you might find comfort to know that in ANY relationship, desparation is never a good tool. I know, I know you probably weren't begging and pleading, but it still comes across as "needy". It's good that you still had the lines of communication open, but you might want to back off just a bit and give her some space. If you were meant to be together, you will be. What she may mean by that she loves you but can't be with you rings true in a lot of relationships. In my own opinion, sometimes personalities are so alike that you cannot share "life" with that person. While you can enjoy a distant relationship of deep "knowing" friendship, perhaps intimacy is something that cannot happen again. What is intimacy anyway but a deep relationship based on love, and that's what you currently have with her. Please know that loving someone doesn't always mean possessing that person. You may have to be content with the friendship loving her enough to let her go, but being there enough to catch her when she falls. Hope that helps - katiefish <><

I totally would have, and have done the same thing.
All you can ever do in life is tell the truth, and leave yourself vulnerable, yes you might get hurt, but the risk is worth it as the reward can be amazing.

i think you did good. You told got your feelings out in the open. If nothing comes of it then nothing will. You shouldn't have to hold in your feelings.

It might not have been the "wrong" thing to say, but it probably doesn't help you to tell yourself that you need this other person in order to achieve happiness.
She's apparently moved on. You can too.

dont feel bad for telling the truth. if her relationship isnt going so well, saying that might be the best thing you could do. you might want to apologize for coming on too strong, but its just a suggestion. impulses are our true feelings, let them out.

no, you did the right thing and got all your feelings out, so even if it might have been too much for her to handle she will appreciate it later, and you will not regret "not saying all you wanted"
Good Luck

it was not the wrong thing to say because if you love someone , you are supposed to let them no how you feel because while your loving them, they might not be loving you! you were brave to tell her that and i know you love and if she really loves you, she will get back with you, don't run after someone who doesn't want to ran after.
