I was just watching it the other week and was just thinking that. Of all the worthless remakes and sequels out there this movie deserves to be remade in a kick *** way. It's my most fav of all the sci fis I've ever seen, and I've been hoping for the longest that some one would remake it. With today hi tech FX it would probably make tons of dough, and they could make a prequel and a sequel.

Not that I know of, but it's something Hollywood would consider, but how do you improve on a pretty good original.
