We've Only Just Begun...by The Carpenters, was huge in the 70's as a wedding song. I had 3 friends use it and it was on tv shows that showed weddings. It was everywhere! I believe in second place was "If"..by Bread

Not sure if I fully understand what you're asking, but as Ty H said, "We've Only Just Begun" by The Carpenters was very popular at weddings in the 70s.

My other guess would be "You Light Up My Life" by Debby Boone.
