I was driving to a family get together one day when lightening struck a utility pole about 5 or 6 feet from the side of the road and I just kept moving. A short distance away it struck another pole just a few feet from my car and the pole literally exploded showering my car and the road with wood splinters,I pulled into a church parking lot and said a few prayers before proceeding. The noise was unbelievably loud and the flash brilliant enough to light a city.

I was approx 50 feet away from a direct strike. sitting at a bedroom window watching a storm roll in and all of a sudden lightning struck a tree in the yard right outside the window. The tree was about 10-12 inches in diameter at the base and about 30 feet tall. lightning hit it and it split open at a fork in the tree that was about 6 feet off the ground. it was extremely bright and loud and sparks and bark flew from the tree.

In a mobile home in the mountains during a lightening storm. Directly overhead but not sure how high up. Everything went bright for an instant. Electrical power was lost. TV blew. The whole place shook and rattled ferociously. Some say they notice a change but nothing bothers me, bothers me, bothers me.
