No, I can't... so what I do is knock the crud outta myself when I get up without turning the light on!

My family moved to a new place many years ago. I got up to go to the bathroom. I didn't want to wake completely, so I put my hands out to ‘feel’ my way, thinking I would detect obstacles there. HA!

What I didn't realize was that the door was open, positioned Between my hands! That door clocked me HARD right in the nose. Not only did I see stars, but my eyes watered!

Needless to say, I ended up wide awake and speaking in tongues! Should have turned the light on, you think?

Yes you can see in the dark, if you mean night-time dark and not pitchblack dark.
You see what is in the room only more shadowy.
If you're talking about pure darkness, no you can't see- shut your eyes.
