Yes you can get shocks with either AC or DC if the voltage is enough but in AC the electrons move back and forwards but in DC there is a flow of electrons in only one direction. Hence with DC there is a positive and negative side and with AC there is only a live and neutral.

With AC the current flows back and forth with the changes in the polarity of the alternator. DC uses a battery so it only flows in one direction, from negative to positive.

direct current flows in one direction in a circuit. For example, a battery has a negative and positive terminal and current always flows from the positive to the negative. Electrons flow from negative to positive - this distinction between current flow and electron flow is a hold over from the 1700's when scientists decided that current went from positive to negative.
In an AC generator, like those used to power our homes, the polarity of a physical terminal alternates in time. For instance, in a 60 Hz power system, one terminal on the generator will go from positive to negative 60 times a second - the other terminal does the reverse polarity switch. So the current flow changes direction, alternates, in time as well.

A.C current is used mostly in parallel circuits. AC sends electricity through the conductors one way, then it is sent back the other way through the conductors. This process repeats; it's sort of like a pulsing current.
DC just flows from the source to the end of the circuit continuously.

AC flows in both directions i.e. it keeps switching the direction several times per second; hence, only a live wire & neutral in electrical sockets.
AC produces a sine wave oscillation, whereas, DC doesn't.
Both AC & DC generate electric shocks that can be hazardous depending on the voltage.

Our body is made up pf cells which contain dissolved mineral ions. When current is exposed to our cells, the mineral ions help the current to flow throughout the body( note:ions conduct electricity) the sensory cells detect the flow of current and direct the stimulus to the brain which then produces a stimulus to be receive by the effector cells in form of pain.

alternating current changes polarity periodically whereas direct current is unidirectional in flow. both are shockable but ac is more fatal as it attracts the body due to change in polarity.

direct current runs from negative to positive. in in one direction through the wire.
alternation current runs from negative to positive aswell, but negative and positive switch about 50 times per second, making the current run back and forth through the wire basically.
and its both electricity, and can shock you.
