I think people who disparage gay people are truely just scared of anything out of their "norm"... They are just ridiculous. I don't believe they understand sexuality as a whole and I honestly just see them as cowards. Gay people are people. Not the f word or any of those other derogatory terms.

Although I think a lot of people like to apply that kind of reasoning when talking about people who bash gays, I don't think most gay-bashers are necessarily insecure about their sexuality. I just think making slurs about gays is a really easy way for (them) to try and insult someone. It's sort of a cultural marker (in America) to use someone's sexual orientation (if it's different from the mainstream) to put someone down. I think a lot of this has to do with the negative connotation associated with homosexuality and the way homosexuality is perceived here (for a lot of guys, it's a direct violation of one's masculinity).

I’ve found out some interesting facts:
1. Straight men aren’t interested in gays.
2. Straight men don’t want to think of gay sex or talk about it.
3. Straight men don’t want to sit for hours each day looking up gay related stuff online.
Ask any straight men and they’ll agree with those facts. So what about the “straight” men who are obsessed by homosexuality? Are they really straight or are they having problems with their own sexuality?

I don't despise homosexuals, but I felt uncomfortable talking to a few because I could hear them saying crude comments about me, also I hated it when one asked for an answer through one of my friends, I didn't know what to say except the same thing as before, I'm not attracted to males, But I hated having to voice my opinion twice.

That's a good point because usually it's the extreme homophobic's that are actually gay themselves, they've just been brought up to think that it's wrong.

Yea, that's it. They make fun of you just because they are insecure about themselves. Keep telling yourself that. In time that's what you'll will believe.
