It's because people were so rude to the French during our recent nationalistic excesses....getting rid of French fries in favor of American fries, not being grateful for the Statue of Liberty, cancelling French award ceremonies, etc. I hear some people even stopped French kissing. And now you want their benefits? Puleeze!

I do - I love French fries, French toast, French green beans, French's mustard. I also love cheese which is a benefit we get from the French.

It is a beautiful language and will expand your horizons. Besides talking to French people, you will be able to read books in French, travel to France and understand and enjoy in a different way what you see, what you eat, etc., and even you can get a better paid job when you are fluent in two or more languages.

The word you're looking for is "fringe", as stated.
However, what kind of fringe benefits do you mean? From whom? For what? Some people get them for certain jobs or for different services, but it's really hard to know what you're asking about without more information.
