No. There was, however, a Count Dracula who lived in Rumania in the 15th century. See the attached. Drinking blood? I think not.

Funfact:
Math can prove that vampires don't exist:

If the vampires existed in the 1600, then humanity would have been exterminated 30 months later.

If we consider that a vampire must feed everyday and that dying from a vampire's bite turns you into a vampire, and that an average 1 person will successfully become a vampire per month, then we have this:

In the year 1600, there were about 536 870 911 humans and 1 vampire (Dracula), then the 2nd month, there would be 2 vampires and 536 870 910 humans (natural deaths and births included).

After 12 months, there would be 2048 vampires and 536 868 864 humans.

24 months later, there would be 8 388 608 vampires and 528 482 304 humans.

At 29 months, there would be as many vampires as humans, meaning that, the next month, there would be no humans left.

So, if vampires started to exist today and if there are 7 000 000 000 humans, then it would take 33½ months until we were exterminated.

So, logically, vampires can't exist.

Vampire Bats exist but certainly not the Draculas

Vampires and draculas are nothing other than spirits of evil persons who no longer possess the physical body. As in human body, they continue to torture, and harm others. Nature of the spirit remains the same. You would see some animals docile, others are bullies. The difference is of the nature of the spirit. Its the same --- whether in this living world or the world of spirit.

Dearest Kunal,

Yes, they do but the common misconception is that they want to take over the earth. Psy and sanguine vampires exist and have existed for thousands of years.

They keep to themselves, they function amongst general society and exercise their powers at their discretion.

It is not necessary for a sanguine vampire to bite humans to exercise their rite. They can drink blood from humans or animals and often will drink their own blood.

Psy vampires feed from the energy of humans around them and usually they feed from multiple humans at once so you do not even realize the change in your energy levels.

It is not their intent to rule the earth. If it was the entire planet would have converted years ago as it wouldn't take more than 5 years for every human to change if vampires bred vampires from the population.

I do not know about draculas. They may be fictitious. But vimpires, if you mean by them some ghosts, definitely exist. Bhutas and pretas do exist. "Bhuta" means, "ghost" and preta means "a dis-embodied being". They are the attendants of Lord Siva.

There are people who are very sensitive to the sun. That's probably how this whole thing was started. Also there was a queen who thought that bathing in the blood of virgins would keep her young.

vampires do. in biology they belong to class khyroptera. bats belong to this class because of being active at night (not by sipping blood as their means of survival) and chose to retire during the day. but dracula,... well he earned so much money for his author.
