It looks rusted because my father went scooba diving and found it under the sea covered with planton.
ive managed to keep it in good condition.

There are two, one was minted at the Melbourne mint (mintage 12,408,000) the other at the Perth mint (dot after PENNY) mintage 45,514,000. None are rare or even scarce and can be found in world coin boxes for .10-.25 U.S.. It is like finding a needle in a haystack, finding the coin on the bottom of the sea. To bad it could not talk, so it could tell us how it got there. It is worth more as an item your father gave you, than actual money. In my book that is a higher value.

You can get a numistic catalogue from a good antique centre or even your library and this will give you an idea what they are worth. Also check out coin dealers in your area. As they are Australian it makes it a bit more difficult. Seabys do a catalogue for UK coins.
