i find it scary to think that the sort of people we trust our loved ones life with - as well as our own are being revealed to be corrupt, and with a plan to endanger/kill people on a massive scale.

just goes to show the proffesion does not make a person.

Although the McCann supporters have been dewy eyed about this pair solely, it seems, on the grounds that they are doctor I wonder if they will now revise their blind faith. Most doctors are brilliant, and thank God for them, but the fact remains that they have their bad apples just as any profession or community. Harold Shipman was an extreme case but there have been others who were murderers eg Crippen, Adams etc. Others have appeared in the Press on charges of professional misconduct etc.
I have great respect for doctors but I am not so blinkered that I would blindly believe in one simply because he is a doctor!

People WANT to make all terrorists out to be just ignorant goat herders. And while those are often the ones strapping the bombs to their chests, that people have not realized until now that "professionals" of many kinds financially back, help plan, and are even involved in terrorists acts has always seemed a little naive to me.

Maybe people feel a little more betrayed by "doctors" being involved, because they are supposed to help people...but doctors are human too...and humans can be flawed.

As a health care professional I am horrified they have been working in our health care system my only relief if you can call it that is they are not trained in UK so therefor do not have our morals, code of conduct or ethics.

As for Mccann clan bad parents for leaving their children alone at night for a jolly they are not terrorists.

Considering maybe 10% of the adult population are 'professionals', (doctors, nurses, dentists, solicitors, barristers, accountants, etc etc etc), its hardly surprising that they are in the news!

eg Cherie Blair is in the news most days - although you know her as Tonys wife, she IS a 'professional' in her own right.

Doctors are not particularly special people. They are like everyone else & often go into that profession because they are a) priveleged & b) know they will be well remunerated

Ive posted a Q asking people to list all the ones they can think of - I think quite a few of them love themselves, think they are gods, and generally sh*t all over humanity.
