Why do people wear expensive cloths? sure people like looking good, but is the only way to look good is by wearing expensive cloths? I have been judged, and seen people being judged just because of the cloths they wear. as long as they arent badly stained and have alot of holes why does it matter what cloths you wear and how expensive they are?its a waist of money.

from my point of view wearin expensive cloths is not bad as long as u have money to waste on it...and its not true that only expensive cloths can make u luk gud its just the way u carry ur cloths and ur self which make u diffrent from others..and u r right tht now ppl r been judged by cloths and that really not fair..the only way to solve this problem...is just be confident...and wear some thing which make u feel comfortable .............

Well expensive clothes does have more better designers and are more delicate which in some brands not known don't have. It's because the new fashion now in this day and also the entertainment media which are making people feel like famous stars which in most cases people would spend their check on one shirt and a pant for a designer's brand and stay with no money but as well get looks from the public that is if they are cute faces. lol. Life is expensive now in this days!

Clothing brands really don't matter to anyone other than people with money to burn and unrealistic goals in life. Take hollister clothing for example, Its expensive as can be and yet every time I go to the thrift stores I find clothing with the Hollister brand for less than 3 dollars each vs the brand new price tag of 20-80+ dollars ea.

It all depends on style really. If you look good in your clothes then yo look good. If you don't, then try a new style. Thrift stores are great for any style you're looking for from costumes to whatever. Just remember to wash it before you wear it.

It's a personal preference. I love designer clothes because it's usually the look I am trying to acheive. I don't feel it's a waste of my money, it is what I choose to spend it on.

I disagree with judging others for what they have or do not have, though. I think you are right about being clean and presentable.

well the logical answer is that expensive clothing is better tailored and use better fabric. (if one doesnt know that thean it really doesnt matter what you wear cuz um the clothes can only carry you so far) But the illogical answer is people want others to admire them for what they are wearing. obviously from the amount of people in debt most cant afford those fashion statements-- they are phony but hey at least they think better of themselves, right! expensive clothing usually lasts a lot longer if its not fashion trendy , classic armani very good investment. better than a 7 dollar tshirt that disintegrates in laundry.

Sounds like sour grapes. Who are you to judge how other people spend their money? Some clothes cost more because people are willing to pay more for them. Every clothing manufacturer charges as much for theior clothes as they can; some are just able to charge more because their clothes are better. "badly stained"? "alot of holes"? That's yor standard? Some holes and some stains are okay for you?

I agree with you. I REFUSE to spend any more money than necessary on clothes. I think that thrift stores and rummage sales are great things and take advantage of them. Yesterday, I wore a blouse that was maybe seven years old. It's a faded kahaki (army) green. There is a cigarette burn hole in the chest pocket. That resulted when I once wanted to go back inside of the building and was not done with my cigarette. I thought I had fully extinguished it in the sand filled ash try but did not, and had to go to the restroom to put out the sparks. I wore it yesterday to my church's Bible study, cleaned and ironed. It still looks good for around the house, and things like grocery shopping. However, I would likely not wear it to church.

I have several pieces of clothing that I got for free and on which I get compliments. I have a dress that I rescued from a Dumpster and have recieved compliments on it every time I wear it. (It's stretchy, so I can wear it as my weight fluctuates, and being black good for any occasion, and it doesn't wrinkl and folds small so it's great for traveling.)

l think that I have recently convinced my SIL who thinks that one has to have the latest trends from the mass produced mall stores that one can find good stuff at thrift stores and that it's better for the environment, animals, and does not support the slave labor factories she would complain about. (That's the other reasons why I don't do retail and new clothes. I would point out to her that I don't know where the mall clothes came from and I don't want to support something I don't agree with. Just a few months ago, she called me weird for saying that $20 for a pair of jeans is expensive. I thought, "Just wait until Mommy stops supplying your unlimited clothing wants.")

I only buy brand new clothes when necessary, like when I needed maternity clothes. It was easier to just buy some from Kohl's (at 50% off, I will only buy new if it's at least 50% off) where I could find some than hunting at a thrift store, at least to get started. This week, though, I'm going to hunt thrift stores for another pair of maternity shorts, as I only have one. (Though I have a pair of kahakis and another pair of jeans and another shirt, all of which I bought at rummage sales for $1 each. The shorts came from a resale store for around $5; I got a blouse there for $1 and another shirt from a Goodwill for a few dollars. My mother helped buy the shirt and jeans from Kohl's, the shorts, the blouse and the shirt from Goodwill.)

Anyway, I digress. I am in much agreement with you.

SOME PEOPLE JUST LIKE TO SHOW BOAT ABOUT THINGS AND BE LIKE THIS IS REAL. BUT LITTLE DO PEOPLE KNOW, YOU CAN GO BUY THE KNOCK OFF AND STILL LOOK JUST AS GOOD AS THE IDIOT THAT PAID $80 FOR THOSE JEANS BUT WITH $60 MAYBE $70 EXTRA IN YA POCKET. MY MANAGER JUST GOT HIS WIFE A COACH WALLET FOR $150. I GOT THE SAME WALLET FOR $10. AND YOU CANNOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE. AND THE PEOPLE THAT SPEND THIS KIND OF MONEY ON CLOTHES AND ACCESSORIES MOST LIKELY DONT HAVE BILLS TO PAY OR THEIR LIVING WITH MOMMY AND DADDY. THAT OR THEY GOT A GOOD A** PAYING JOB.

it can define where u stand socially, if by wearing great clothes, it boosts ur self confidence

however, i know this girl who has really bad clothes dies her hair crappily, but still exerts the same amount of confidence that a typical person with expensive clothes does.

it all depends on how someone thinks

My very personnal oppinion is : yes people that always buying the most expensive things to wear is because if they wear something for 10.00, they feel so down with themselves, and they think nobody is going to look at them or invite them nowhere.
