i was thinking and what is the big deal of the "If your erection lasts more than 4 hours, seek immediate medical help". what happens to u if it does last more than 4 hours????

When you have an erection blood is trapped inside your penis to make it hard. If blood does not move after a period of time it clots blocking any blood flow at all. In extreme circumstances, tissue starts dieing. Enough said?

It's called a priaprism and it becomes a emergency at four hours. The areas of the penis that fill with blood during arousal will start to die(for lack of better word) The doctors take a needle and insert it into these areas and drain the blood. We sometimes see this with spinal cord injurys after accidents although it's rare.

Doctors will do a surgery to get the blood flowing again to other parts of the body, this is no fun.
