You were promoted to high school (at least the ninth grade) and your basic composition skills are that bad? I don't think I wrote like that when I was in the second or thrid grade. I hope this isn't an indication of the poor quality of public schools.

As for your questions, I would have thought that your middle school or junior high would have gone over some of this, but perhaps it wasn't feasible if the students were heading to different schools.

I went to a small high school of about 300 students and there, backpacks were quite useful, even though we had lockers. High school is neither as wonderful nor as glamourous as what Hollywood makes it. It will not be like "Beverly Hills, 90210" or "Saved by the Bell" or any of the other cheesy shows or movies. However, my high school days were somewhat similar to the characters Molly Ringwald played in the Brat Pack movies of the 80s.

1. Yes your parents stay with you for orientation....They have to know your teachers and they have to sign paper work.
2. Lockers, Bookbags are still fine

You'll make friends easily....especially in high school. Ask for people's phone numbers the first 3 days of school. After your first week of school, people would have started making their "clicks" by then. By clicks I mean small little groups. Don't be nervous on the first day of school. It's basically an introduction and a time to meet your teachers. It's exactly like the transition between elementary school and middle school. Your high school friends will be your better friends over middle and elementary school. Don't be involved in all the crappy drama that happens in 9th grade. You'll get used to it anyhow. If you have Myspace, be sure to list Ed White under your schools. You can ask the same questions on there. Plus why do you have California under your profile details??? Plus, why would you put this under the fashion category???
